What paternity DNA testing at the Omaha office involves

The Omaha office option gives you two ways to complete a paternity DNA test locally. Path one: walk in during office hours or book an appointment, and a trained DNA specialist collects cheek swabs from the alleged father and the child on-site. Path two: come in, pick up a kit, take it home to collect the swabs at your own pace, and drop the kit back at the office or mail it in. Either path uses the same US-based AABB-accredited and CAP-certified lab and produces the same accuracy.

How accurate is paternity DNA testing?

Paternity testing compares 24 DNA genetic markers between the alleged father and the child, with dual processing so each sample is reviewed twice for consistency. When paternity is confirmed, results typically show 99.999% or higher probability. When paternity is excluded, exclusion is 100%. In-office collection eliminates two common causes of sample viability issues: incorrect swabbing technique and swabs sealed while wet. Trained staff handle both.

When to add the mother's cheek swab

Including the mother's sample can strengthen the paternity comparison in some scenarios by letting the lab isolate paternal markers in the child's DNA profile. She can walk in with the family or come separately. Her sample is optional and included at no additional cost.

When to choose legal chain-of-custody testing instead

This service is for informational testing. If you need results for court, custody, child support, immigration, or estate proceedings, a legal chain-of-custody test is required. Legal testing has to be done in-office with photo identification and witnessed collection. Both are available at the Omaha office as separate services.

When to consider the at-home kit instead

If you're not local to Omaha or don't want to make the trip, the at-home paternity kit ships nationwide via FedEx with the same lab process and accuracy. The main tradeoff is that self-collection requires you to follow the instructions carefully, and shipping adds a few days versus walking out with samples already at the lab within the same day.

Turnaround from the Omaha office

Results are typically completed and emailed within 1 to 3 business days after the lab receives the samples and places them into processing. Because samples collected on-site can be sent to the lab the same day, in-office collection often shaves a day or two off the total timeline versus the at-home kit, which adds outbound and return shipping days.

Same-day collection, next-week results

For most walk-in visits, the collection itself takes 15 minutes or less. Samples are logged and sent to the partnered lab the same business day. From there, the 1-to-3 business day lab window begins. Weekends and holidays are not counted.

What can extend the timeline

The main variable is sample quality. Because collection is done by trained staff, sample quality issues are rare on in-office cases. If a swab does present a viability concern at the lab, we call you before rerunning anything so you know what's happening.

Talk to a specialist face to face

The Omaha office isn't a lab. It's a private, professional space where you can ask questions, review the process, and understand what your results will mean before you commit. Every visit is handled by a DNA specialist who walks you through the collection, explains what the paternity comparison actually measures, and stays available for follow-up questions after results arrive.

No portals, no automated systems, no call centers

When you call, you talk to a person in Omaha. When you visit, you're greeted by staff, not a kiosk. When you get results, you receive them from the same specialist who handled your case. This is the same approach used for the at-home kits, but with a physical office you can visit if you prefer to talk in person.

A+ BBB rating

My Forever DNA holds an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, which reflects the company's customer service standards, complaint response history, and time in business (since 2015).

Private, discreet office experience

The Omaha office is set up for private DNA testing conversations. Collection rooms are separate from the waiting area. Nothing about your visit ends up in a portal, database, or shared record. Your case is handled by one specialist and one lab team, and that's it.

How It Works

Step 1 · Walk in or schedule an appointment

The Omaha office accepts walk-ins during business hours (Monday through Thursday 9 AM to 4 PM CST, Friday 9 AM to 2 PM CST). Appointments can be booked online or by phone at 402-800-7161. Either way is fine.

Step 2 · Arrive at 7004 Maple Street

The office is at 7004 Maple Street, Omaha, NE 68104. Free parking is available. When you arrive, staff will check you in and confirm which relationship you're testing and who the participants are.

Step 3 · Choose in-office collection or kit pickup

At intake, you decide whether the DNA specialist collects samples on-site (fastest path, most common choice) or whether you'd rather take a kit home to complete on your own schedule.

Step 4 · Sample collection

If on-site, each participant collects two cheek swabs with guidance from the specialist. The process takes about a minute per swab. Painless at any age.

Step 5 · Case logged and samples sent to the lab

Once samples are sealed and labeled, they're logged into the case system and dispatched to our partnered lab, typically the same business day.

Step 6 · Paternity comparison at the lab

The lab runs the paternity comparison at 24 DNA genetic markers with dual processing over 1 to 3 business days.

Step 7 · Results emailed to you

The full-color PDF report is emailed to the contact you specified at intake. Your specialist follows up to make sure the report was received and to answer any questions.
