Private At-Home Paternity DNA Test Kits by Mail

The right paternity test depends on who can provide samples, where they live, and how the result will be used.

Our standard at-home paternity test uses painless cheek swabs from the alleged father and child. The mother does not normally need to take part. Our AABB-accredited U.S. laboratory partner compares 24 DNA genetic markers plus Amelogenin. Required samples are dual processed before results are released.

When paternity is supported, the probability can be 99.999% or higher. If the tested man is not the biological father, the report shows a 100% exclusion.

Which Paternity Test Should You Choose?

The standard father-child kit is the right starting point for many families, but it is not the only option.

• Standard at-home paternity test: Choose this when one alleged father and one child can collect cheek swabs at the same location.

• Multiple-child paternity test: Use one case to compare the same alleged father with two or more children. Each child receives a separate father-child result.

• Multi-location paternity test: Separate kits can be sent to two U.S. addresses when the alleged father and child live apart.

• DIY digital paternity test: Receive the instructions electronically, collect with approved supplies, and mail the samples yourself. You can begin right away without waiting for a physical kit.

• Alternative-sample paternity test: A used toothbrush, rooted hair, nail clippings, or another approved item may be considered when a cheek swab is unavailable.

If you need to compare more than one possible father, tell us before ordering. Cases involving possible fathers who are closely related may need a different setup or additional participants.

How At-Home Paternity Testing Works

1. Order the test that matches your family. Choose the number of children, shipping locations, and sample type needed for the case. If samples will be collected at different addresses, review our multi-location DNA testing options before checkout.

2. Collect and label each sample. Follow the instructions and keep every participant's swabs or personal items separate.

3. Return the samples and completed forms. Laboratory processing begins after all required materials have arrived and been accepted.

4. Receive your results by email. Standard paternity results are typically completed within 1 to 3 business days after the case enters laboratory processing. Shipping and collection time are separate.

No online account, kit activation, or barcode registration is required. If a sample or form needs attention, our team contacts you directly.

What If the Alleged Father Cannot Be Tested?

A direct sample from the alleged father gives the clearest answer. When he is unavailable or deceased, another route may still be possible.

Depending on your family, the laboratory may be able to compare the child with one or both grandparents, a biological aunt or uncle, or a known biological child of the alleged father. A personal item used only by the alleged father may also be considered through our discreet DNA testing options if it can be submitted lawfully and contains usable DNA.

Each choice answers the question in a different way. Testing relatives provides indirect relationship evidence, while a usable sample from the alleged father allows a direct paternity comparison. Tell us which relatives and samples are available, and we will help you make sense of the options.

Can Paternity Be Tested During Pregnancy?

Yes. Prenatal paternity testing follows a different process from a standard post-birth kit. Our Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity service is available from 7 weeks of pregnancy and uses a professionally collected maternal blood sample plus a cheek swab from the alleged father.

My Forever DNA does not offer maternal self-collection for prenatal paternity testing. The blood collection is arranged through our Omaha service, so contact us before ordering if you need an answer during pregnancy.

At-Home Paternity Testing and Legal Paternity Testing

A self-collected at-home test is for personal knowledge. It is not intended for court, child support, custody, immigration, inheritance, birth-record changes, or another official matter.

For official use, arrange legal DNA testing before anyone collects a sample. Legal testing includes verified identification, witnessed collection, and documented chain of custody.

Private Testing with Help When You Need It

Kits are sent in plain packaging, and results are delivered privately by email. We do not sell customer DNA data or upload consumer DNA profiles to ancestry, genealogy, or law-enforcement databases. Physical samples are destroyed after testing according to laboratory protocol.
