Confirm Full Siblings, Half-Siblings, or No Biological Relationship From Different Locations
The My Forever DNA® Multi-Location At-Home Sibling DNA Test Kit provides reliable answers without a clinic visit. One order includes two complete collection kits shipped to separate addresses, making testing simple for participants who live apart.
This test can help determine whether two people are full siblings who share both biological parents, half siblings who share one biological parent, or are not biologically related as siblings. It is ideal for adults, adoptees, separated family members, and anyone seeking answers.

How the Multi-Location Sibling DNA Test Works
Each participant receives a separate kit, collects cheek-swab samples at home, and returns them directly to the laboratory. The DNA profiles are compared to evaluate one of three outcomes:
- Full siblings who share the same biological mother and father.
- Half siblings who share one biological parent.
- Not biologically related as siblings.
Parents are not required. However, including the biological mother of one or both tested siblings whenever possible can strengthen the comparison and reduce the chance of an inconclusive result. If the siblings have different mothers, a sample from either known biological mother may still help.
Understanding Sibling DNA Test Results
Full siblings generally share about 50% of their DNA, while half siblings share about 25%. The laboratory examines shared genetic-marker patterns and calculates the likelihood of the claimed relationship. Because sibling testing is indirect, some cases may produce an inconclusive result. This does not mean the samples were collected incorrectly or that a laboratory error occurred.
If additional DNA is needed, testing a biological parent, grandparent, or aunt or uncle may strengthen the analysis. A half-sibling result does not identify which biological parent is shared.
