For in-office testing, each twin provides samples at My Forever DNA's private Omaha clinic, either during a shared visit or at separate informational visits arranged with our team. A trained team member confirms the case information and collects two cheek swabs from each twin. Samples are labeled, prepared, and sent to the laboratory, typically the same business day when possible.

When viable DNA is obtained from both twins, the laboratory compares 24 DNA markers plus Amelogenin and processes the samples twice for verification. Matching profiles support an identical-twin result; differing profiles support a fraternal-twin result. Testing is performed by a U.S.-based AABB-accredited and CAP-certified laboratory partner.
Results are typically completed within 1-3 business days after both twins' required samples and completed forms are received and accepted by the laboratory.
