Multiple Location At-Home Paternity DNA Testing • 1 Order, 2 Kits Shipped to Different Addresses
Accurately and privately determine whether a man is the biological father of a child, even when participants live in different homes, cities, or states. The My Forever DNA® Multiple Location Home Paternity DNA Test Kit allows each person to collect a simple cheek swab from home and return it directly to the laboratory.
What a multi-location paternity DNA test is
A paternity DNA test that ships two complete test kits to two different addresses on one order. Each kit contains cheek swabs, illustrated instructions, a results notification form, and a prepaid FedEx return envelope. The alleged father collects at his address. The child (or the child's parent or guardian) collects at their address. Each participant mails their samples back to the lab independently. When both samples arrive, the lab matches them by the unique case identifier printed on each envelope and runs the paternity comparison.
When to choose the multi-location kit over the standard paternity kit
-
The alleged father and child live in different homes, cities, or states.
-
A separated or divorced household where getting both participants to one address is not practical.
-
A shared-custody arrangement where the child is with a different parent than the one who will collect the swab.
-
Any situation where the alleged father works away from home (military deployment, extended travel, out-of-state work).
-
International testing where the alleged father is in a different country than the child.
If both participants can collect at the same address, the standard at-home paternity kit is a better fit because it ships a single kit and is priced lower.
How the lab matches samples from two locations
Each kit ships with envelopes labeled with the same unique case identifier. When samples arrive at the lab from either shipment, they're logged into a single case file under that identifier. The paternity comparison doesn't run until both participants' samples have been received and confirmed viable. Because the two shipments can arrive on different days, tracking each return envelope individually is helpful. Your dedicated DNA specialist can look up either tracking number if you need a status update.
How accurate is a multi-location paternity test?
When cheek swabs from both participants yield viable DNA, accuracy is identical to a standard single-location paternity test. The comparison runs on 24 DNA genetic markers with dual processing through a US-based AABB-accredited and CAP-certified laboratory partner. When paternity is confirmed, results typically show 99.999% or higher probability of paternity. When paternity is excluded, exclusion is 100%. The multi-location logistics don't affect the science, only the shipping.
When to choose a legal DNA test instead
This test is for informational and personal use. Results are not court-admissible and cannot be used in custody, child support, immigration, or estate proceedings. Legal DNA testing requires witnessed collection with photo identification and a documented chain of custody, which cannot be done through a multi-location home kit. If any legal process is involved, order a legal DNA test instead.
Need a Different Paternity Testing Option?
Prefer a standard one-location home paternity test?
If all participants can collect samples from the same location, our Standard At-Home Paternity DNA Test may be the better option.
Need a discreet or alternative DNA sample?
If cheek swabs are not available, view our Discreet DNA Testing Kit.
Need to collect and return samples today?
If you do not want a physical kit shipped, our DIY Digital Paternity DNA Test may be best for same-location testing. The DIY kit is not available for multiple-location orders.
