Turnaround varies by test type

Turnaround windows depend on which relationship is being tested. Direct comparisons (paternity, maternity, twin zygosity) typically complete within 1 to 3 business days after lab receipt. More complex relationship comparisons (sibling, grandparent, aunt/uncle) may take 2 to 3 business days. The turnaround starts when the lab receives and logs the samples.

Same-day collection, same-day lab dispatch

For most in-office visits, the collection itself takes 15 minutes or less. Samples are logged and sent to the partnered lab the same business day. This eliminates the outbound shipping day that at-home kits require.

DNA handling

Kit pickup option

If in-office collection isn't practical, you can pick up a kit at the office and take it home. The kit includes the same components as our shipped at-home kits.

Legal chain-of-custody

Legal testing (any relationship, but with court-admissible documentation) is a separate service offered at the Omaha office. Legal testing requires witnessed collection with photo ID.

How It Works

Step 1 · Walk in or schedule

The Omaha office accepts walk-ins during business hours (Monday through Thursday 9 AM to 4 PM CST, Friday 9 AM to 2 PM CST). Appointments can be booked at 402-800-7161. No specific test needs to be selected in advance.

Step 2 · Arrive at 7004 Maple Street

Free parking. Staff greets you and confirms which relationship you're testing. If you're not sure, that's the conversation you have at this step.

Step 3 · Case setup

Staff configures the case based on the relationship you're testing and who's participating. Decisions like adding a mother's sample or testing multiple children are made here.

Step 4 · Choose in-office collection or kit pickup

Most visits use on-site collection. Kit pickup is available if you'd rather complete collection at home.

Step 5 · Sample collection

Each participant provides two cheek swabs with guidance from the specialist.

Step 6 · Samples sent to the lab

Samples are labeled, packaged, and dispatched to the partnered lab, typically the same business day.

Step 7 · Lab processing

The lab runs the relationship comparison with dual processing over the turnaround window for that specific test (1 to 3 business days for paternity, maternity, and twin zygosity; 2 to 3 for sibling, grandparent, and aunt or uncle).

Step 8 · Report delivery

The full-color PDF report is emailed to the contact you specified. Your specialist follows up to confirm receipt and answer any questions.
