An at-home paternity DNA test compares genetic markers between an alleged father and a child to determine whether the man is the biological father. Every child inherits 50% of their DNA from their biological mother and 50% from their biological father.
The lab looks at 24 DNA genetic marker locations and confirms whether the child's inherited paternal markers match the alleged father's markers. When paternity is confirmed, results typically show 99.999% or higher probability. When paternity is excluded, exclusion is 100%.
Accuracy depends on two things: the quality of the samples and the standards of the lab that processes them. Our lab is US-based, AABB-accredited, and CAP-certified. Every case runs at 24 DNA genetic markers with dual processing, meaning each sample is tested twice and reviewed for consistency before results are released. When collection is done correctly with the included cheek swabs, at-home paternity test accuracy matches accuracy on legal chain-of-custody tests processed at the same lab.
A paternity test doesn't require the mother's sample, but including it can strengthen the result in some scenarios. The mother's DNA lets the lab identify which markers in the child came from the maternal side, isolating the paternal-side markers for the comparison. Including the mother is optional and there's no extra fee to add her sample. Coordinate with your specialist if you want to include her.
The kit works for participants of any age, from newborns to adults. Cheek swab collection is painless and takes about a minute per swab. There are no needles, no blood, and no medical procedures involved. Because the collection is non-invasive, you don't need a doctor's referral or a court order to order the kit.

This man tried to say he didn’t believe my son was his after having a second kid with him & having to go through the same thing twice I’m done. I used forever DNA for both my kids, came super fast got my results in 2 days. I shoulda just put him on child support it woulda been free but I don’t believe in child support he lucky.
So grateful for this test and how quick the results came back even during the Holiday. It was a very emotional and anxious experience, I was appreciative with the sensitivity and kindness I was treated with. They were very fast and responsive. Paid the extra at the post office to get it there early and it actually made it 2 days faster then the projected time. Once they recieved the samples they updated me right away they had them and by the next day I had my results! Super fast! The only thing I had issue with are the envelopes they send pictured. They do not have a lining in them and after putting wet swabs in them they bleed through. My fear was cross contamination but this was solved by leaving them by themselves to dry for a few hours. Just keep that in mind when purchasing just in case like me you miss the post office bc you had to wait. I also made sure to face the swabs of the parent and child in opposite directions to help with that. Other than that they seem to be worth the purchase!
